GAEA SPRINGS TO LIFE

Representing all life on Earth, Gaea bursts forward -- one of her legs made of plants and the other of animals.
When they merge, flowers burst forth with dragonfly and butterfly wings adorning her torso. The diadem she is crowned with was created in honor of Gaea by an artist in Ancient Greece. I took the photo while at the Met with my daughter. Pretty insane to be able to "collaborate" on a piece for Gaea with an artist from millenia ago.

This is one vignette among many, interwoven to form REBIRTH of GAEA -- a visual tapestry synthesizing modern conceptions of our place in the universe with those of the Ancient Greeks.
