Design + AI Artist · 2024 – 2025
Samsung's retail flagship walls are a canvas unlike any other -- nine synchronized displays forming a single seamless image, roughly 20K pixels wide. Like if every town had its own Times Square. Like if the MoMA had pop-up galleries around the world. Like if the AppleTV screensavers took steroids.
For the LANDSCAPE takeover, the goal was to stop shoppers mid-stride: a living landscape drifting across the entire wall, and a butterfly that brings it to life as it travels from screen to screen.
The final wall is a four-layer hybrid: an AI-generated backplate, stock elements upscaled with Topaz, CG particles and an animated butterfly -- and live action I shot myself, with two very special assistants. Delivered as one master takeover plus nine per-screen renders, first in 2024 and refreshed in 2025 for new wall configurations.
THE FULL 9-SCREEN TAKEOVER — MASTER CUT
IN THE WILD — PARAMUS, AUGUST 2024
The shoot
The original AI-generated flowers didn't look right -- and worse, they were motionless, which felt way off for a piece about bringing a landscape to life. The client was happy with them. I wasn't.
So we reshot the flowers for real -- with my daughters as my very special production assistants. Real blooms swaying in real wind, a blue bedsheet for a screen, and live action of the girls (and our dogs) that ended up inside the final wall.

Anatomy of the wall
Four kinds of image-making, fused into one seamless field: an AI-generated backplate, stock deer and butterfly footage upscaled with Topaz, CG particle systems and an animated butterfly, and the live action we shot ourselves -- flowers, daughters, dogs.
The CG butterfly is animated to land exactly where the live action begins -- the seam between the two worlds is the moment it touches down.

The easter eggs
Look closely -- the wall is full of hidden personal history:
Flowing Meditation, the waterfall vignette from REBIRTH of GAEA, brought to life on screen right. My daughter with her backpack, center frame. My other daughter on the island in the distance. Our dogs, screen right.
And that island? It's real. I filmed it from Vivian Rosenthal's deck in Connecticut during a breathwork retreat -- which is exactly where this piece's deeper current comes from.
Why a butterfly
There is something that happens physiologically when you experience visuals that are greater-encompassing. Imagery that connects without boundaries -- a parallel to expanding into other dimensions.
The hero's journey
A butterfly realizes the power within, its self-imposed limitations --
and expands the canvas of its own creation.
Self-manifesting, self-aware of its true nature:
a sparkle dancing around, turning the layers on.
At the end, the particles turn off.
It's forgetting its true self,
returning to being unaware --
to experience life as a butterfly.
And so it returns to the flower within the frame, after having experienced a shift in consciousness -- a new appreciation for life, for nature. It slowly tilts its head at the passing birds, and gives 2 little claps :)
