For this sequence in The Penguin, I was tasked with visualizing Sophia Falcone's subjective experience during EMDR therapy.
Unfamiliar with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), I visited a local therapist to experience it firsthand, using guided eye movements to help reprocess distressing memories.
When asked to recall something mildly traumatic from my youth, I realized I still hadn’t fully processed my mom picking me up late from soccer. Win win.
